yeah your right Rick, just for comparison, after painstakingly ordering numberous adapters and wires and jacks, I finally got my laptop rigged up to be able to hook a vocal mic to it so I can record live miked amp, so check this version I recorded with a kalamazoo amp.

Recording Tips & Tricks / iRig and amplitube
« on: August 19, 2017, 10:09:17 AM »
After not recording for a long time, I have decided to play around a bit again, using my android phone, I downloaded an app called Bandlab which allows multitrack recording along with fx and editing etc. You can also calaborate with other users and such. So trying to get my phone set up to be a mobile studio is a bit of a learning challange. First I need to be able to come from my phones 3.5 mm jack with a split device to allow me to use a head set and a mic at the same time.

I tried a splitter from amazon with a 3.5 mm to 1/4 adapter which didnt work, because the phone uses TRRS jacks with 3 rings that tells the phone, this is a headset, this is a mic blaa blaa, well you cant go from TRRS to 1/4 stereo jack, dont work, so someone suggested iRig, its a little adapter that plugs into your phone, on the other end has a headset jack, an amp out jack, and a mic jack and does all the fancy converting inside. Along with that the solftwhare called amplitube which allows multitrack recording fx and amp modeling. So I ordered the iRig waiting for it to come in, hope this all works out.

Anyone use a simular thing or heard of this?

Gear Lust / Re: Hohner Marine band in A $50
« on: July 29, 2017, 10:05:47 PM »
as long as EastTop stays at the affordable price its at, I will never buy another hohner, susuki, lee oskar again. I have been playing these things for about 4 or 5 months and I dont have a single complaint. They play way better, sound way better and feel way better than any main manufacture I have had in the past AND at under 20 bucks thats insane!!!
Rick they are tuned like marine bands. I have the 008S higher end model as well, the only difference is the reeds are welded in place not rivet, but the feel and sound and play is the same.

Im telling you guys I took all my harps and put them in a zip lock bag, and replaced them in my harp case with east top, every now and again I take out the zip lock and play a few and OMG! It reminds me how good the easttop are, all of the old harps I have are hard to play, stuffy, low volume, I just dont see how I was playing this things.

Yeah I got a couple from rockin rons, awesome customer service, they were out of the key o ordered, and he called me personally and told me he was sending me the upgraded model in that key because they were out of stock, now they don't do this everytime, but in my case he did, I was super pleased with his service!

Im Leroy Jenkins over at modern harmonica,,, dont ask, but you may have seen my posts. I too fell in love and got a whole set, Im not yanking your chain guys, when I go back to my marine bands and sp20s and all the rest, they are stuffy and hard to play, and not much projection. These easttops are awesome, Id pay 50.00 a peace for them, I also have the lucky13 which is Benden Powers artist model, also a great harp, its sort of like a steve backer special. You guys need to try them, they are 12 bucks from china, if you want them sooner than 4 weeks in US they sell for 20 ish.
you will not be sorry.
