Still alive and well - and thanks to Beelzebob for contacting me. Went through some health stuff but alls well at this point. Having a ball with the dobro, still going to local jams with my harps. I listen from time to time but will get something up soon. Hope everyone is doing well and so many good solid posts are up there.

Harmonica Playing Technique Q & A / Re: The 6OB
« on: March 01, 2016, 06:49:17 PM »
I think of the 6OB as an octave above the 3draw half step bend and try to play the same riffs I would use on the first 4 holes up an octave. Heres one that I like and try to use that I kind of like:

4, 4OB, 5+, 6+, 6, 6OB,6, 6+, 5+, 6+, 5+, 4

Well I thanked in an another post but appreciate these backing track so much, I gotta do it again here. Its what makes this a special thing. I wish we lived closer Beelzebub - I've played around with Band in a Box but not to the point of having anything I'd be prepared to share. I need someone to guide me through it but plane fares are just too high these days to justify my coming to see you ;)

That is some sweet harp playing. Guitar is so solid and I like what he does vocally - talk about grit!! Man for a jam session, that is some performance!!

Well done Lindy - solid articulation on those quick riffs and bang on the groove! Cool

Big time thanks to all of you for the responses. It gives me a lot to think about and work with. I'm getting more comfortable and happier with the software effects set up and that is certainly making a difference. I contacted Frosty to ask about his set up and took his advice before uploading my last post (Midnight City Hwy). I've also added an equalizer to play with (a band EQ rather than the Parametric EQ that the software uses) and that is giving me more control - still playing around with it though. I'll have to mess around with reverb, limiter and compressor because I have tended to just use the EQ and echo without an understanding of those other effects.

Again, big thanks to you for the info!!

That is some tasty playing Matt - comping is bang on, adds to the overall band without bringing attention to the harp. Solo work is bang on for the flavour of the song. Cool stuff - congratulations!
