Hello Room / Re: RRR says Hello Everyone

Thanks Gorf.

Gonna check it out allright!

Trying something right now with an adaption of the Bo Diddley riff. Quite demanding and speedy, but might get some foottapping from some folks!
We'll see, excellent stuff to amplify.

Greetz mate,
John

Yeah,

Well put by Gorf.
I'm still keepin' it simple with a PigNose 7-100, that I sometimes use as a pre-amp in my PA FENDER PASSPORT 150.
A pity the little nice looking ever so cute PigNose is so feedbackprone.
Been quit happy with both I must say.
One of the coolest things 'bout the PigNose is the possibility to use a guitarstrap and just carry it around while playin, 'cause it works on batteries too. Gives great streetcredibility to my taste.

See ya'll

Gear Lust / Re: Seydel session steel

All my harps are SEYDEL 1847.
Give excellent metallic reverberating sound with them steel reeds.
Play very easy. Rather airtight.
I've ordered myself a Session Steel now just for the sporty looks of it. There are a few excess holes in the comb I'm gonna put to use. I'm gonna drill a little hole in both coverplates right on the spot where one of the holes in the comb is, put a lanyard  through, and use it in the car.

A visitor of this site builds them, customizes if needed even to personal liking, sels them, cost a tad more, BUT: gives longlife guarantee. And lives up to it: http://www.customharmonicashop.nl/

Thanks Rick,

I didn't search long enough to find the delete procedure.

Have a nice weekend!

Hy Guys,

Hey, I did an upload of a song (Bs Shuffle), but I saw too late that the backing track repeated itself after my playing.
I tried to edit it, but apparently I can't do that?
Anyway, I'll be more carefull in the future.

Greetz,
John

Gear Lust / Delay
« on: April 14, 2013, 03:14:05 AM »
Hey guys, writing this with a gruesome hangover.
Regarding to my last post in 'The Main Stage Tracks': I'm fairly new on the scene, findin' my way around the bluesharp (playin' for 'bout 16 months now, but totaly addicted), Floppy Lips and Beƫlzebob suggested I could use some 'delay'.
Please elaborate my friends: what is 'delay' and how to get it.
Have a nice one,

Hangover John.

Love this kind of discussions
Maybe not a lot of folks active on this site, their loss. Good vibes here.
I'll post something Stan's way tomorrow, post something on a BT from this site too.
Keep the holes singin' blokes!

See ya'll

@ Rick: thanks, have picked one in the meantime, try to post something tomorrow or next week.

@ Stan: great, have something I can post as a 'Solo', I'll do that this weekend probably.

Now, my objective is not to rehearse songs untill they are as good as I can get them, cause I like to move on.  The 'solo' I will post is something like that: checked a backing for it's structure (12bar), put the recorder on and played it right away in one take.

Looking forward to comments.

John

Recording Tips & Tricks / Backing Track not listed

Hey guys,

Have I read it right: you can only post songs with a backing track originating from this site?
So I can not post a song on a backing track from let's say Jimmy Reed?

Greetz,

John

Thanks for the encouragement Stan,

appreciate it!

I started out with the harp in the hope to ever create a reasonable sound, glad I've seemed to have succeeded.

Administration & Announcements / Change titlename song.
« on: March 20, 2013, 05:18:49 AM »
Hey guys,

Used a backing from BeelzeBob, but at an attempt to upload, I couldn't choose a titlename for the song. Only a picklist was presented with other names, with no possibility to enter mine.

Anyway: here it is. Been playing for like 14 months now.

Hey Rick,

Have some trouble registering, but I seem to be able to upload. So, I'm working on something new, and I'll give it a shot as soon as I get it about right.

Thanks!

The 'net is great, but nothing beats a good teacher.
I get teached via Skype (from a member of this forum, great guy), ok, sometimes some trouble with the imagefeed, but there are advantages: I can stay at home and record the lesson on camera.
You would be surprised what a second look at the lesson offers!

See ya'll,
John
