BadgerBob:
Retired cattleman and journalist. UK-born Australian citizen. Worked and lived in UK; East, Central and Southern Africa; Australia. Had to give up outdoor pursuits following my 80th birthday ... 16 months ago ... which was when I took up the harmonica as a new challenge, and my first active music pursuit. Taking Tony Eyers' online Harmonica Academy four-year course ... which I find very good. Practice an average two hours daily. Range of diatonic harp keys. Too old to memorise and play by ear (although I can correct wrong tab notes by ear). Use small flash-card tab sheets on a mobile phone tripod. Going quite well with tunes, not so well with blues, and find the tremolo tough on my aged lungs. Heaps of support from local musos, and beginning to play at small parties and music nights - generally with a ukulele/guitar/banjo crowd, but sometimes solos and with banjo accompaniment. Having a ball. Wish I had started 70 years ago.
