Hi guys, I'm CamiloHarper from the Jam, but my login name in the forum is different. Hope you remember me. I was kind of active a couple of years ago in HarmonicaBoogie.
I wanted to share with you my own instrumental harmonica album, that you can download free of charge.
As you can see it's an eclectic selection of songs, that highlights the harmonica as the voice of the band. You have blues, jazz, pop and waltz!
You can download it here
http://camiloharper.weebly.com/music.html
The album is free of charge, I think music must be shared, but as you know, artist also have to pay for their instruments
so if you want, you can make a donation trough my site. Even one dollar would show your support for for an independent artist like myself.
If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, I will try to answer ASAP!
Yours truly,
Camilo Harper

Sounding good, Camilo. You haven't been playing harp that long, am I correct? Man, that makes me sick JUST KIDDING! Really nice vibrato on Georgia, hadn't noticed that on your HB efforts. How are you making the CD, with backing tracks or live musicians or what? The quality of royalty-free material is so good now, I see no problem with artists using loops or whatever. Band in the Box has an Audiophile version, quite a few good musicians have made CDs using it. I'm going to produce a friend's CD, then I am going to make one myself. I'm not a very good musician, but I've written some songs that I think are worthwhile, at least for a home-grown effort.
Good luck with it, sounds like a winner!

He Beelzebob.
I have been playing for 5 years and some months. The first years where of very intensive practice but I'm glad I did it back then, because I had more free time at that moment.
I'm making the CD with Backing Tracks. Half of them are made by me with Band In a Box (plus VSTi Instruments), others were taken from internet, with the due permission of the owners. Since it's an small production, mostly "artisanal", they told me it was ok as long as I credited them and put some links to their sites, with I will do in The readme when the disk is ready.
I don't play other instruments (wich is a shame) and sadly since I moved to europe a year ago, I lost all my musicians friends in Argentina. I had to find other resoucres to finish my project.
I'm planning to busk in the near summer and sell some CD's, since I need to save some cash for my last year of studies.
BTW, I love your backing tracks, some of them I would swear they are made by real musicians!
Have a nice sunday,
Camilo

Very limber playing. I don't understand why on "Hellow Dolly" you only use the vibrato on that one low note. I wanted to hear it on the higher notes of the melody too. But it does sound good!
Very pretty tones throughout. Your bent tone is very pretty.

You seem to be inhabiting a happy time in your life. Good for you!
The track made me feel happy! Music comunicating emotion is what it is all about! Very good!
Loved the backing track. I love the simple harp rhythm. Some nice character in the melodic line too.

Thank You for your support Rick and Erick!
I'm glad you were able to feel the happiness in the song. For me, when you perform you have to transmit what the song was meant to say. If it's a happy song, happiness, if it's a sad song, sadness. I try to borrow this fellings when I play.
I really can't dig "ego" music. You know, that kind of music when the performer is more interested in showing what he can do, and not to communicate something to his listener, even if it's something simple.
What I Like about Don't Worry be happy is this idea. You know, Bobby Mc Ferrin is a monster musician. He could easily sing really complex pieces of music, but he prefered to do this little piece of music, with only 2 chords and a really simple melody line. Paradoxally, It's his most famous song.
Anyway, the fact that you were able to feel happyness listening to the track is a great reward for me Erick, thank you very much.
...
In the meanwhile I wanted to share with you the tacklist of "Voices" :
- Dont Worry Be Happy (Bobby Mc Ferrin)
- Hello Dolly (Louis Armstrong)
- Le Valse d'Amelie ( Yann Tiersen)
- Don't Know Why (Norah Jones)
- Little Red Rooster (Willie Dixon)
- Georgia on my Mind (Ray Charles)
- Blackbird (The beatles)
- Hideaway (Freddy King)
- Redemption Song (Bob Marley)
- Should I Stay or Should I go ( The Clash)
- La Vie en Rose (Edith Piaf/ Louis Armstrong)
