Title: Early live William Clarke on Keep Our Business to Yourself
Post by: Blue In Green on April 24, 2014, 10:13:22 AM
Just found this one. Awesome:

So, this is same basic song as Help Me and you get to hear what William Clarke did with it back on a live gig back in 1980 or so. That's pretty great.

Excellent, thank you. I've just been told to go and listen to all the William Clarke I can find, so this is right on time!  How did you know? :-)

Hey mindthegap. Be sure to check out Tip of the Top and Live in Germany along with Blowing Like Hell and The Hard Way and others too. And of course, listen to this over and over and over:

Fantastic, thanks. And so begins my William Clarke total immersion therapy.

...and just listening to your own music now - wow, this is great.

Good one, I dragged out my sp 20 D harp and practiced the into about 30 times, sometimes after a lull in harp stuff the juices start to return. Saved to favourites :)

I'm a huge William Clarke fan and have been looking for anything I haven't heard yet. Some of my favorite instrumentals that I think you'll like:

Going Steady:

Blowin' Like Hell and Cash Money on one video:

Haven't listened to him much before but I can see and hear what I've been missing.  He makes my playing sound like I'm standing still.  Lots to learn from him!

I learn a lot about different players by listening to how they play acoustically in addition to amplified.

Here are some examples of William Clarke playing acoustic diatonic:

Good examples of acoustic chromatic in third position on the The Hard Way album. For example, the song called Fishing Blues.

Thanks for these ones - great!  I agree, listening to a someone's acoustic playing vs their amped playing shows just how much they are putting out acoustically to get their amped sound.

As a relative beginner, this has been one of the big, difficult questions. With the help of my teacher I've started to crack that code.  Although I think this will take a while. A source of much enjoyment :-)

@mindthegap - I listened to your strack on the Help Me'ish backing track. Very good.
