Hello from Arlington, MA

Hello from Arlington, MA...
I'm a 62 year old player who began after hearing the 1st Paul Butterfield BB album when I was 15.  I was early on influenced by the Stones, Yardbirds, Mayall, and John Hammond, Jr.  Soon discovered Jr. Wells, James Cotton, then Sonny Boy and the Walters.  By the time I read Tony Glover's book, I was well on my way to figuring things out.  Bought my first harp, a G MB, at Gerde's Folk City in the Villlage.
I was never in a band except to occasionally sit in until I came upon the Cambridge Harmonica Orchestra in 1985 or so.  I was a regular player with them until the group folded.  During that period, I learned a lot of musicianship and techniques from the many excellent players who passed through.
I've always had a pretty good tone, with a fair Butterfieldian epiglottal tremolo, but not true "throat vibrato".
I've lately been playing Hohner Blue Midnight harps, but I've gone through phases of using MBs, Huang Silvertones, Hohner Pro Harps, Golden Melodys, Spec. 20s, and Blues Harps.
My single biggest weakness is I just can't seem to hit the 10th hole blow Whammer Jammer for me!
My all-time favorite harp tunes are:  "Roller Coaster", "Oh Baby", "Mellow Down Easy" all LW, "Trust My Baby", and "Dissatisfied" by SBII, everything on "Hoodoo Man Blues", James Cotton's Vanguard recording on "Chicago thew blues Today!", and of course the first Butterfield and Musselwhite discs.  I really like George Smith, but have never figured out how to play his music.

Yo Lazy Lew-
The Johnny D jam faction is increasing on Harm Boogie.  We have another Mass Bluesman on site.
You know your instrument & definitely know your blues harp history. Can't wait to hear a posting from you.
Glad you followed up.

Hi Lazy Lew

Welcome from another newbie. Interested to hear about your vibrato/tremolo as it's something I've been trying to work up.  Looking forward to hearing your posts!
